WKU News
- Celebration of the Arts Exhibit: On March 2, the annual US Bank Celebration of the Arts opened at the Kentucky Museum. Now in its 32nd year, the show is a chance for our community to engage with artists and their work, become inspired, and—most importantly—celebrate our region’s incredible creativity.
- Hilltopper Etiquette Dinner teaches students to shine while they dine: Pass to the right, butter only small pieces of bread, remember that the bread plate is on your left and your drinks are on your right, and place your knife on the plate with the blade facing away from your dining companions. These were just a few of the business etiquette guidelines shared with a group of nearly 200 students from 18 departments and student organizations at the annual Hilltopper Etiquette Dinner.

WKU Sports
- Softball: Sullivan Named Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week: WKU Softball rookie pitcher Kennedy Sullivan posted another dominating week in the circle for the Hilltoppers and has been recognized by the league office as the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week. The Georgetown, Ky., native went 3-0 on the week while recording a no-hitter and an NCAA-best 17-strikeout showing on separate occasions.
- Men’s golf: Hilltoppers, Sargent in Title Hunt at ECU Intercollegiate: WKU Hilltopper Golf and redshirt senior Billy Tom Sargent are very much in contention for titles heading into the final day of East Carolina's ECU Intercollegiate. Sargent is in second place in the field after compiling a two-round total of 142 (69-73) on Monday at the par-72, 6,755-yard Brook Valley Country Club. As a team, WKU is in third place with a two-round total of 585 (291-294).
- Women’s golf: Joiner Ties for Third-Lowest Round in Program History at UNF Tourney: WKU junior golfer Mary Joiner fired a 4-under 68 in the second round of North Florida's UNF Collegiate, rebounding from a tough start to finish the opening day tied for 12th individually. Joiner's 68 is tied for the third-lowest single-round score in program history, a mark she also reached in the fall. She's just four strokes out of fifth with a 145 (77-68) total.
- Men’s basketball: Bassey Wins Ninth C-USA Freshman of the Week Award: WKU center Charles Bassey averaged a double-double over two Pod 1 victories last week, securing his ninth Conference USA Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week award Monday. The 6-foot-11, 245-pound native of Lagos, Nigeria, is now one weekly freshman honor away from tying the C-USA record of 10 set by Rice's Marcus Evans in 2015-16.
