- Four former Hilltoppers honored as Trailblazers: For 22 years, Bowling Green’s Trailblazers Committee has recognized community leaders during Black History Month. This year, WKU alumni Dr. V. Lynne Holland, Brooke Justice, Mitch Walker and Monica Wardlow were among the six local African-American citizens recognized on Feb. 24 for their leadership qualities in management, civic engagement, community service, law, entrepreneurship and higher education.
- Mardi Gras in New Orleans ‘amazing experience’ for WKU student: WKU student Madeline Marita is studying at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with National Student Exchange (NSE). “Being in New Orleans for Mardi Gras season has been an amazing experience. I have never seen a whole community come together so much for a holiday celebration. Each parade has a different krewe running it and they spend all year building floats and prizes to throw. All the local middle school and high school bands play in parades every weekend. People of all ages, children to college students to elderly couples, come out to watch the parades and celebrate together." More: Cooking with Caboni
