2015-2016 Inaugural Community Picture

  • The Chinese Language Immersion House is the first language immersion house at WKU and the first Chinese focused residential house at a Kentucky higher education institution.
  • The House is funded through the Office of International Programs and serves as a space for the Chinese speaking community at WKU to live and host community events.
  • Currently 8 WKU students call the House home.  They are either native speakers, students in the Chinese Flagship Program, or students majoring in Chinese through the Department of Modern Languages.
  • Non-native speakers must have reached an “intermediate-mid” level of proficiency, as defined by the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), to live in the House.
