Six months and counting

Less than six months from now...the Sun will disappear in the middle of the day!
For the first time since 1979, the path of a total solar eclipse crosses the United States. Unlike 1979, when the path only traversed parts of the a few northwestern states, this eclipse path sweeps from Oregon to South Carlina.
WKU is within the path of totality...the 70 mile wide line where the eclipse is total. Check our web links to maps to find out if YOU are in the path of totality. Learn about this awesome natural sight beginning April 2 in the Hardin Planetarium. Plan your viewing party now!
For the partial eclipse, proper eye protection is a must. NEVER look at the Sun without a certified solar filter. We have safe solar viewers available through the Hardin Planetarium gift shop. These aren't generic "solar glasses." They feature a stunning Bowling Green design. The goal is for everyone to observe the eclipse...and to do so safely.
