Teacher Certification Procedures

All paperwork must be submitted to WKU’s Certification Office for processing before it is sent to Educator Licensure and Effectiveness (OELE). Formerly Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB).

Submit a CA-1 Form (or CA-TP Form for Alternative Route students) to:

Request that a transcript be sent electronically to: OELE (Formerly EPSB) once the degree has been awarded or final grades have posted for non-degrees. Electronic transcripts requests are made through TOPNET.

If completing a degree, please check the box: HOLD for posting of degree. If completing a Planned 5^th Year, Planned 6^th Year, or Certification Only program, please check the box: HOLD for end of semester grades. All Electronic transcripts must be sent directly to the Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness (formerly EPSB)

NOTE: Only Official Transcripts will be accepted.

• Recommendations for teacher certification will be processed ONLY when the following documents have been received by the Office of Teacher Certification:
  • Completed CA-1 Form (Pages 1, 3, & 5)
  • Official Transcripts
    
  • Passing Praxis II or Specialty Exam Scores (where applicable) 
    NOTE: Please keep a copy of ALL Praxis scores for your records

• Once processed, the CA-1 Form will be submitted directly to Educator Licensure and Effectiveness in Frankfort. The certification fee should be paid directly through the EPSB’s e-Pay system at www.kyepsb.net.
