General Education - prior to Fall 2014
Prior to Fall 2014:
The 2001-2014 General Education Program identified ten core competencies, published in the Undergraduate Catalog provides a foundation for professional success. Pertinent information about the program and requirements follows:
WKU students enrolled prior to the fall 2014 semester will continue to follow the General Education Requirements. This set of requirements is an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum that both complements and supports the student's preparation in their major specific field. Regardless of a major in Accounting, English, Sport Management, etc., students are required to meet general education requirements. There are specific courses that may benefit students and this information will be conveyed the students by their academic advisor to ensure students are maximizing their experience with general education.
Fall 2014 and On:
WKU students whose first semester at the university is fall 2014 or later must meet the Colonnade Program Requirements. This set of requirements is an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum that both complements and supports the student's preparation in their major specific field. Regardless of a major in Accounting, English, Sport Management, etc., students are required to meet the Colonnade Program requirements. There are specific courses that may benefit students and this information will be conveyed the students by their academic advisor to ensure students are maximizing their experience with general education.
