The state currently does not require applicants pursuing licensure to have graduated with a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited master’s degree; but may require a graduate degree in a related field. In this state, there are specific requirements as follows: Supervised Field Experience in MARYLAND BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS AND THERAPISTS COURSE REQUIREMENT INFORMATION FOR LGPC AND LCPC. Part K. "Direct client contact in counseling experience with a minimum of 125 hours of face-to-face client counseling."
