The state requires applicants pursuing licensure must have graduated with a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited master’s degree. However, WKU's curriculum does necessitate this state’s requirement : R 338.1771 "Training standards for identifying victims of human trafficking; requirements. Rule 71. (1) Under section 16148 of the code, MCL 333.16148, an individual seeking licensure shall complete training in identifying victims of human trafficking" beyond academic degree.
Additional requirements for state licensure may include background checks, official transcripts, fees, additional coursework, training, experience, and board examination results.
