The state currently does not require applicants pursuing licensure to have graduated with a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited master’s degree; but may require a graduate degree in a related field. In this state, there are specific requirements as follows: "Has had at least three years of supervised full-time counseling experience in a professional counseling setting acceptable to the committee, one year of which may be obtained prior to the granting of the master's degree" (45:8B-40).
