The state requires applicants pursuing licensure must have graduated with a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited master’s degree. However, WKU's curriculum does necessitate this state’s requirement: 255-X-30.01 Sec. b. 11. "Assessment activities with clients may not account for more than 20% of the direct services in the internship." 

Additional requirements for state licensure may include background checks, official transcripts, fees, additional coursework, training, experience, and board examination results.
