This state does not license registered health information administrators/technicians or certified coding associates/specialists. However, some employment opportunities may require Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P) certifications offered through the American Health Information Management Association.
 
WKU's Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to sit for the RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CCS, and CCS-P exams.
