Forensic team wins tournaments at Murray State, Eastern Michigan

WKU forensic team members traveled to Murray, Ky., and Ypsilanti, Mich., to take part in four tournaments the weekend of Feb. 2-3.
In Murray, WKU was crowned team sweepstakes champion at both tournaments hosted on the campus of Murray State University. All members of the WKU team at Murray advanced to final rounds this weekend, securing 11 event championships. Other competing schools included the University of Alabama, Belmont University, North Central College, Tennessee State University and Tennessee Tech University.
Eastern Michigan University also hosted two tournaments, at which WKU’s team won the team sweepstakes championships for both. Additionally, all members of the WKU team at EMU advanced to finals. Sophomore John Corum received third in individual sweepstakes, a measure of overall personal success. Other teams included Northwestern University, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Ohio University, Miami University, Ball State University, Bowling Green State University, University of Akron and Wayne State University.
Next weekend the team will split to compete in three locations: Los Angeles, Calif.; Boston, Mass.; and Hutchinson, Kan.
