Top Economics Students Inducted in Honor Society
- Thursday, April 25th, 2013
The WKU chapter of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honor Society in business inducted 26 students during its annual initiation banquet held Friday, April 19.
These inductees join college students on 678 chapters across the world in recognition of scholastic attainment in economics.
Richard Holton served as keynote speaker for the event. Holton is the President of Holton Blackstone and Mayberry, a boutique law firm in Nashville, TN. Holton graduated from WKU in 1969 with a BS/BA in Economics and Business Administration and recently created an Assistantship in the Department of Economics at WKU. Holton encouraged students to work hard and be proud of their WKU economics degree.
“Qualifying for and accepting membership in ODE is a way students can reward themselves for their own hard work and dedication in their studies,” said Dr. Cathy Carey, Chair of the Department of Economics. “It also tells employers and graduate schools that these students are at the top of their class.”
