Dr. Edward M Yager, a Political Science professor at WKU, spent his last year on a research sabbatical where he also earned another graduate degree. For this program, Dr. Yager spent a year at the London School of Economics and Political Science. This institution specializes in the social sciences, and attracts students from all over the world. For the one year political theory program, Dr. Yager was one of only six American students, with forty other students coming from around the world. At the London school of Economics and Political Science, American enrollment only makes up around 13% of the school's total population. For this sabbatical, Dr. Yager combined a formal year long study with research, with the course assignments being the equivalent of scholarly journal articles. After completing this program, Dr. Yager received his M. Sc. in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and earned “merit” for the quality of his work .
In the near future, Dr. Yager plans on converting five of these research projects into journal articles, with three of them being on John Locke. Not only did this help Dr. Yager with future research projects, but it has also helped improve his teaching in several courses here at WKU. If you see Dr. Yager on campus, congratulate him on his recent success!
