Year of Light Activities at Planetarium SCI Camp
- Wednesday, June 24th, 2015
Hardin Planetarium is busy celebrating the International Year of Light -- a global initiative adopted by the United Nations.
Investigations will be illuminating during Hardin Planetarium’s summer SCI Camp. Youngsters attending SCI Camp will be engaged with interactive experiences and explorations into the mysteries of light.
Campers will make a trip to the WKU theatre department to explore how light and color interplay on stage. They will also get to explore with laser light, investigate the mysteries of invisible light, decode secret messages, and solve a series of puzzles and challenges.
This summer's SCI Camp runs from 8 am to noon during the week of July 6th through 10th. SCI Camp accepts only 20 participants, and is currently registering at wku.edu/hardinplanetarium. Late registration is possible, but fees go up after 9 a.m. Monday, June 29th.
The public is invited to visit the Planetarium, at the corner of State Street and College Heights Boulevard on the WKU campus, call 270-745-4044 or visit http://wku.edu/hardinplanetarium/.
