Professor Wins Top Paper Awards at Conference

Dr. Whitney Peake, Vitale Professor of Entrepreneurship and Assistant Professor of Management in the Gordon Ford College of Business, received two of the top awards during the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) Annual Conference held in Philadelphia January 19-22.
Peake and her co-author, Northeastern University professor Dr. Kimberly Eddleston, received the John Jack Award for the overall best paper dealing with entrepreneurship by women or minorities or under conditions of adversity as well as the Journal for Small Business Management Editor’s Choice Award for the best overall paper presented during the USASBE Annual Conference.
The winning paper is entitled, “Conditioned to Care? Gender Differences in Entrepreneurial Social Responsibility” and discusses how differently men and women in small businesses engage with their employees and community.
