WKU students Dylan Duckworth of Antioch, Illinois, and Madelynn Williams of Bowling Green were recognized for receiving the Undergraduate Library Research Award for University Experience (UE) classes.  Each semester, WKU Libraries and WKU University Experience faculty offer the awards in an effort to recognize the important role of good undergraduate research in college academic success.

“We look forward to honoring students for these research awards each semester,” said Joe Shankweiler, assistant professor for WKU Libraries and chair of the awards committee. “It’s a pleasure to acknowledge students who have shown exceptional information literacy and research skills through their class projects. These critical skills will help them throughout their college careers and beyond.”   

Duckworth, research winner representing the main campus University Experience class, is finishing his first year at WKU. He received his award for his annotated resource list titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ted Talk Resource List.” His instructor was Sara McCaslin.

Williams, a first-year student, received her award for the best career essay titled “Teacher’s Assistant.” Her instructor was Anne Heintzman from the South Campus University Experience class.

Students received $100 with a plaque honoring their achievement.
