WKU’s Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) recently welcomed 14 new members, bringing the membership total 21 after the graduation of senior members.
“During the recruitment process, we were looking for a group of students who had a passion and willingness to help at WKU,” said Allie Sharp, the WKU Alumni Association’s Coordinator of Student and Young Alumni Engagement and Student Alumni Ambassador Advisor. “Our mission as an organization is to educate the campus on the Alumni Association and the important work we do.”

According to Sharp, the Ambassador program began in the spring of 2015 as an official student organization of the WKU Alumni Association. The Ambassadors are selected based on campus involvement, academic performance and desire to promote the WKU Spirit. Ambassadors work closely with the Alumni Association and various community groups to promote WKU, including supporting events and serving as student liaisons. The Ambassadors express an extra measure of hospitality to current students, donors and alumni, promoting WKU and communicating the importance of Alumni support.
Chartered in 1913, the WKU Alumni Association works to “involve all members of the WKU Family in the life of the institution,” and encourages alumni to develop strong ties with each other and the University through an engaging mix of programs, activities and events. Currently, more than 110,000 WKU alumni live around the globe. The continued success of the Alumni Association and the University depends on the commitment of time, energy and resources from alumni and friends.
