The WKU Staff Council's Staff Leadership Institute (SLI) Committee has selected the SLI Class of 2018. Through a competitive process, the Committee selected 25 WKU staff members to participate in the eight-month program, which develops leadership skills for a cohort of WKU staff members that have demonstrated advancement potential.

The training will take place Jan. 17 through Aug. 8. Participants will spend one day each month to focus on building a variety of leadership skills. They will also hear from WKU leaders about valuable resources throughout campus, as well as experience the WKU Challenge Course and the WKU Spirit of Service program.

WKU Lifelong Learning Program Manager Cindy Ehresman said that the goal of the SLI is to provide selected WKU staff with a challenging program that builds leadership skills and helps them excel personally and professionally.

The SLI is sponsored by the WKU Staff Council and WKU Human Resources and coordinated by WKU Lifelong Learning. The selection process is competitive, and employees must be recommended by their supervisor. Over 270 WKU staff have participated since its development in 2003.

 “We are honored to partner with WKU Human Resources and the Staff Council to identify and support emerging leaders within the WKU community,” she added.

The SLI Class of 2018 includes Brittney Green, Brent Haselhoff, Diane Keeling, Jessica Clemons, Jordan Cole, Josiah Super, Melia Schrader, Nick Schoenbaechler, Shaden Melky, Sherri Taylor, Desiree Blaine, Katherine Hale, Melanie Redden, Melna Wilson, Kim Shields, Dewaker Dhandapani, Lesley Cash, Keith Lamastus, Sandy Tinsley, Heather Cowherd, Amanda Tinsley, Suzanne Thomas, Judy English, Karen Hume and Laura Reynolds.
