• Terry Ballman selected as next WKU Provost: Terry Ballman, Dean of the College of Arts and Letters at California State University, San Bernardino, will be the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at WKU. Dr. Ballman will begin Aug. 1, succeeding David Lee, who is retiring.
• Belts, bourbon and fraternity brothers. A dorm room startup becomes a successful business: Clay Simpson of Louisville and Tyler Jury of Elizabethtown met at WKU through their fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI), and now they co-own a successful leather business, Clayton & Crume. How they got to this point stems from a love of leather crafting combined with a little beer and an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Through the lens of Vanderbilt University and Nashville Predators photographer John Russell: In 2017, while the Nashville Predators won their first Western Conference Championship and made their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals, photographer and WKU alumnus John Russell captured the history-making moments through a camera lens.
• Strategic Planning Committee open forum this afternoon: WKU’s Strategic Planning Committee will host its final open forum from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. today (May 2) at the Rick and Ann Guillaume Auditorium, Grise Hall 235. More: Download a draft of the strategic plan.
• Online Sales Now Open for 2018-2019 Housing Permits: Attention WKU students, if you have your housing assignment, you can order your 2018-2019 parking permit online now. You must have your Fall 2018 housing assignment in order to purchase a permit.  More: View the 2018-2019 Housing Parking Map.
• Students Learn Test Skills at Spring ACT Institute: WKU Lifelong Learning hosted the 2018 Spring ACT Institute April 2-5, with students from six counties taking advantage of the program. Lifelong Learning offers these intensive weeklong institutes in the spring and summer before most students begin taking the ACT. • Attention WKU students: It's time to complete course evaluations: Attention WKU students: Please visit wku.evaluationkit.com to complete your Spring 2018 course evaluations. Students completing all course evaluations by May 3 will receive early access to grades on TopNet.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

• Baseball: Toppers Fall at Austin Peay: A complete 180 of the matchup from a year ago saw WKU Baseball drop a midweek contest to Austin Peay by a score of 6-0 on Tuesday night. Next: WKU at Charlotte for a three-game weekend series.
• Soccer: WKU Inks Pekez for Incoming Freshman Class: WKU Soccer Head Coach Jason Neidell has announced the signing of Isidora Pekez, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, who will join the Lady Toppers as part of the seven-member incoming freshman class.
