WKU Hosts FAFSA Completion Event
- Thursday, September 13th, 2018
The Department of Student Financial Assistance at Western Kentucky University (WKU) would like to extend an invitation to college-bound high school seniors and their families to attend a FAFSA Completion event. This free event will assist students and their families with applying for college financial aid.
This event will take place on WKU’s campus on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Jody Richards Hall (formerly known as Mass Media and Technology Hall), Room 166 (Auditorium). Any student who is planning to attend college in Fall 2019 can attend this event--students do not have to be planning to attend WKU.
During the FAFSA Completion event, financial aid professionals will be available to assist students and their families with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)—a document which must be submitted in order to receive federal and state financial aid. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to participate in an informative presentation and ask financial aid-related questions.
In order to receive better assistance with completing their FAFSA, students and their families should bring their 2017 tax information and their FSA ID information with them to this event. Students and parents must have a FSA ID to e-sign the FAFSA.
During the FAFSA Completion event, students and parents will only be able to successfully submit their FAFSA if they have previously applied and been approved for their FSA ID prior to October 13. Without a FSA ID, students and parents can still complete a FAFSA but will only be able to save it electronically. Individuals can apply for a FSA ID at https://fsaid.ed.gov/.
