Breast Care Seminar at Greenview Regional Hospital
Greenview Regional Hospital will offer a free breast care seminar Thursday, October 21 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Greenview is located at 1801 Ashley Circle in Bowling Green.
Greenview physicians and others will be on hand to provide up-to-date information on breast cancer and treatment options.
Dr. Mark Jessen, a surgeon at Greenview, said the seminar gives women the opportunity to learn and understand more about breast cancer.
"Breast cancer runs in families. Knowing a family history can be very helpful in helping a patient determine her risks," said Jessen, one of the physicians who is participating in the seminar.
In addition, those attending will be entertained by Minnie Pearl impersonator and look-a-like, Cindy Moore. Moore came to Nashville from Atlanta in 1979 to sing and dance in the shows at Opryland theme park. It was there that she portrayed Minnie Pearl and was discovered by the real "Minnie," Sarah Cannon. Cindy was trained by Mrs. Cannon and also performed shows with her.
In order to attend the seminar, call MedLine at 800-242-5662 for a reservation.
The Greenview Women's Imaging Center sees hundreds of patients each year, according to Director Todd Waddell. The multidisciplinary clinic utilizes oncologists, radiologists, and specialized surgeons.
The Greenview center offers low-dose digital mammography, breast ultrasound and ultrasound guided core biopsy to provide patients with advanced methods of screening and diagnostic services.
