Updates from the Provost
- Monday, October 14th, 2019
Good morning,
We are now halfway through the Fall semester with another eight weeks to go, and we are working hard to make a difference. Let’s continue to focus on student learning and help our students successfully complete the semester. Please consider creating opportunities for students to engage in learning outside of the classroom. As you are well aware, those applied learning experiences are differentiators for our students.
I hope you each took some time to relax and recharge during your Fall break. We can finally enjoy the cooler weather. There is considerable excitement on campus as we prepare to celebrate Homecoming weekend with a throwback “Decades of Spirit” theme. This theme celebrates WKU’s heritage and honors its 113 years of tradition. Annually, Homecoming brings together faculty, staff, students, and alumni to celebrate the WKU Spirit! This is an opportunity to welcome alumni back to campus and celebrate with family and new friends. Here is a link to this week’s events -- http://alumni.wku.edu/s/808/index.aspx?sid=808&gid=1&pgid=13&cid=664.
As President Caboni says, “We show up, and we wear red.” I hope to see you in red next weekend on The Hill. Happy Homecoming week!
Sincerely,
Cheryl Stevens
