Elizabeth Unseld, quality assurance coordinator attended AAAHC Achieving Accreditation Seminar March 18-19, 2011 in Miami, Florida.

Achieving Accreditation is an interactive, in-depth educational seminar designed to help organizations prepare for the accreditation survey of the AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care/Accreditation Association). In conjunction with the program, the AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement, a subsidiary of AAAHC, will offer My QI,a workshop to assist participants in meeting AAAHC quality improvement standards.

Achieving Accreditation is led by experienced Accreditation Association surveyors who provide a comprehensive review of all the Accreditation Association Core Standards, an overview of the accreditation process, small group breakout sessions based on the specialties of participating organizations, and direct consultation on what an organization needs to know to achieve compliance with AAAHC standards.

My QIworkshop focuses on selecting suitable topics for QI studies, then developing/implementing the studies appropriate for those topics. Participants work in small groups, structured by practice setting where possible.
