Matt attended a Cultural Competency seminar on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Carroll Knicely Center in Bowling Green, KY. The seminar speaker was Dr. Josepha Campinha-Bacote.
Attendees learned about cultural competency and how healthcare workers and patient's views differ. As healthcare workers we must continue to make ourselves culturally competent by respecting and understanding different cultures.
"Effective cultural encounters do not require twice the time, but it DOES require more than twice the presence"
"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." - Dr. Josepha Campinha-Bacote
