achieves MCHES certification with National Commission for
Health Education Credentialing
Congratulations to Kathryn Steward for successfully completing the Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) certification from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC). Kathryn is honored to be among the first class of MCHES credential holders. The initiation of an advanced-level of certification is a significant development in the history of the health education profession. The MCHES credential indicates that Kathryn has met academic and experience requirements, successfully passed a certification assessment, and is in compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements. The MCHES certification is based on Areas of Responsibility, Competencies, and Sub-competencies needed in the advanced-level of practice in health education as verified through national research, the most recent being the 2010 National Health Educator Job Analysis Project.
Kathryn has been employed with Health Services since 2000. Achieving this accomplishment is a mark of distinction and demonstrates expertise in the health education profession. Health Services supports and encourages all employees to seek out relevant professional development opportunities. The Health Services staff is proud of Kathrynfor her recent achievement.
