Why Choose Nursing as a Career?

If you want your life work to make a difference in the lives of others, nursing can be an excellent career for you. Nursing is the largest health care profession and one of the fastest growing. The job market is continuing to expand for nurses with a BSN or higher level degrees and nursing graduates command some of the highest starting salaries for college graduates.

Nurses Make the World a Better Place

When graduates of different majors across the US were asked about the importance of their work, Nurses were the most likely to say that their work makes the world a better place.

Why Choose WKU Nursing?

Just ask our students. WKU is a special place to become a nurse because of our excellent faculty, our new facilities, our community based clinical partnerships and the entire WKU experience. Our students have passrates ranging from 90-100% on the NCLEX licensure exam and the nurse practitioner exams. Our alumni routinely report 100% employment on 1 year post graduation surveys. We also recently doubled the number of students we admit to our nursing programs so there has never been a better time to become a WKU nurse!
