The goal of the WKU BSN program is to provide an accessible, high quality Bachelor
of Science in Nursing (BSN) program to meet the needs of both students and the nursing
workforce. There is room for you at WKU! The BSN program provides training in areas
such as communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills, all of which are
becoming more important as nursing practice becomes more complex. Supervised clinical
experience is provided in the hospital departments such as pediatrics, psychiatric,
maternity, and surgery. In addition to the hospital setting, our students receive
clinical experience in community settings such as hospice, clinics, schools and health
departments, all leading to a professional nurse with a broad knowledge base.
This program offers:
- 4 semesters of upper division course work
- Qualification to take the NCLEX-RN upon completion
- 95% average first-time pass rate
- The following border state residents receive in-state tuition:
- Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
The nursing program at Western Kentucky University has shaped me into becoming the nurse I have always dreamed of being.
