WKU Online LPN to ASN Bridge Program
Climb higher in your nursing career with the WKU LPN to RN Bridge Program! The WKU LPN to ASN Bridge Program allows Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to complete an ASN Program using a combination of online lecture courses, challenge exams, credit for prior learning, and various options for clinical hours. While didactic courses are offered online, students are required to complete clinical hours on campus or in local area clinical facilities.
LPNs are encouraged to contact the LPN to ASN Office to discuss their eligibility and to develop their own customized curriculum plan.
Upon admission to the ASN Program and after successful completion of NUR 150, PSY 220, and BIO 131, the LPN will submit proof of current LPN license to the ASN Program Coordinator for the awarding of nine credit hours for NUR 104, NUR 105 and NUR 106.
LPNs may receive credit on the basis of departmental examinations for NUR 165 and NUR 215. LPNs must contact the ASN Program office for examination details.
LPN curriculum plans depend on which course(s) the LPN can successfully CLEP out of.
Additionally, LPNs may receive credit for prior learning for the following courses: NUR 156, NUR 166 and NUR 216 after successful completion of each clinical course's didactic component.
