Dr. Miranda Peterson holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Northern Kentucky University, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with an emphasis in Nursing Education from the University of Southern Indiana, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) here at WKU. Her nursing career includes medical surgical nursing, pediatrics, labor and delivery, and maternal child community and staff education. She is an active member in Sigma Theta Tau International, Kappa Theta chapter, National League for Nursing (NLN), American Nurses Association (ANA), and Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA).
Dr. Peterson began her teaching career in 2009 and has taught Medical Surgical Nursing III, Pediatric Nursing, Medical Terminology, RN Refresher, Senior Practicum and Disease Prevention, Medical Surgical Nursing I, and Maternal Child Nursing. She is a Certified Nurse Educator and was awarded Teacher of the Year from West Kentucky Community and Technical College in 2014. She currently enjoys teaching Maternal Child Nursing and Med Surg I in the classroom and in simulation experiences.
