Pam Booker is an instructor in the School of Nursing at WKU. She earned her Associates Degree in Nursing and Baccalaureate in Nursing at Kentucky Wesleyan College, Owensboro, Ky. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing with an emphasis in Nursing Leadership at Walden University.
Ms. Booker's clinical nursing experience includes the Intensive Care, ED, Rehab and Surgical Services. She held leadership positions for 13 years in Perioperative Services after working in staff roles in the OR for 5 years. She began a new role as an Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Centennial Medical Center (HCA) before moving to Florida as the CNO in a HCA facility there. In 2008, she began her role at LifePoint Health Corporate Office in Nashville Tn., as a Clinical Director in Quality, then promoted as a Division/Group CNO until 2018. She served as the CNO for Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital until June 2022.
Ms. Booker began her new role as full-time faculty member teaching Health Promotions and Health Assessment Lab in the Fall of 2022. She is a member of American Nurses Association/Kentucky Nurses Association, Association of Operating Room Nurses and hold certifications as CNOR (Certified Nurse in the Operating Room) and CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety).
