Biography

Tracy Jenkins received a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in May 2020 from Western Kentucky University (WKU), a Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) in 2014 from Aquinas College in Nashville TN and a (BSN) degree from Western Kentucky University in 2007. Tracy is employed as a full time Med/Surg I Instructor and MS 1 Clinical Coordinator with WKU.  Tracy also works as PRN in Employee Health at the Medical Center and per diem Registered Nurse with HealthTrust Workforce Solutions. Tracy has taught clinicals in Fundamentals, Med/Surg I & II, and Mental Health.  Tracy volunteers for Room at the Inn and for the KY Department of Public Health in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Tracy has also served as a Clinical Advisory Board Member for Enovate Medical, in Murfreesboro, TN. Tracy holds professional memberships in the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses (AMSN), National League of Nursing, (NLN), American Nurses Association (ANA/KNA), Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) and Association of Vascular Access (AVA).  She also holds certifications in ACLS, PALS, BLS. She is also a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and a faculty advisor for KANS. In 2009, Tracy received the President’s Award from the Kentucky Society of Peri-anesthesia Nurses (KSPAN). In 2017, Tracy was recognized for excellence in education by STTI.  Tracy loves teaching, reading, and spending time with family!
