Online Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Services, Child & Family Services Concentration
Announcement
*Effective May 18, 2022, we have had a change to our program! The Child Studies and Family Studies programs have merged. New students will declare the major of Child and Family Services, and then select a track: either the Child Services track, or the Family Services track. Your advisor will assist you with any questions, or feel free to email Dr. Darbi.
The Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Services develops an understanding of children and families — including the critical principles
that aid in working with these demographics. The major will provide graduates with
entry-level competencies for child and family life.
The program, which leads to the bachelor of science degree, includes courses on nutrition,
family relations, developing age appropriate curriculum, child development and assessment,
and parenting. Students will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge through
practical experiences in a variety of settings through the required internship. Students
can choose between an elective track in either Child Development or Family Development.
