Colonnade Program

Required for all degree seeking students

The Colonnade Program (formerly general education) is a set of classes designed for all students seeking a bachelor's degree at WKU. The curriculum was created with an aim to develop understanding, appreciation, and acceptance of multiple "ways of knowing," including artistic, literary, philosophical, historical, and scientific. WKU provides an online pathway for completion of general education/colonnade curriculum. Please work with your advisor or support staff in WKU Online or click here toidentify online options

*Understanding Online Degree Availability

WKU provides two pathways to earning a bachelor's degree online (or predominantly online): 100% online degrees and 2+2 Bachelor Completion Degrees.

Understanding the difference is critical in the decision making process.

Online availability is noted for each program in the list on the right.

100% Online Degrees require no prior hours earned and may be completed entirely online.

2+2 Bachelor Completion Degrees are designed for students who have an associate degree from an accredited college or university or similar preparation. This classification assumes successful completion of necessary lower level courses with minimal exception. The degrees noted as 2+2 degrees may be completed entirely online if the student meets the defined criteria.

Transfer and former WKU students with previous hours earned may have additional options. Please contact our office to learn more!
