ACCUPLACER Next Generation Exam

The ACCUPLACER Next Generation exam is available to help students place into reading courses, writing courses, and some math courses.

  • Students who are required to take MATH 109, MATH 112, MATH 115, MATH 116, or MATH 123 for their major should schedule the ACCUPLACER Next Generation Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS) exam.
  • Students who are required to take MATH 117, MATH 136, or MATH 183 for their major may schedule the Math Placement Exam (MPE) and/or Math Placement Trigonometry Exam (MPTE). The Mathematics Testing Center can provide additional details about the MPE and MPTE.

Format: In person or online

Cost (first attempt):

  • Free at the Distance Learning Testing Center in Bowling Green, KY or at a WKU regional campus.
  • Administration cost (varies) at an ACCUPLACER Next Generation network location.
  • $10 online via Examity.

Registration instructions:

  • To schedule an in-person exam, call the Distance Learning Testing Center at 270-745-5122.
  • To schedule an off-site exam, call the Distance Learning Testing Center at 270-745-5122 to determine possible locations.
  • To schedule an online exam, use the Distance Learning Testing Center registration page. Please wait at least two business days to receive the testing code and instructions from Examity. Remember to check your spam or junk folder. Contact the Distance Learning Testing Center if you have not received the testing code within two business days.

Additional details:

  • Students may only retake the ACCUPLACER Next Generation exam twice, and they must wait at least two weeks between each test. Additional fees other than those listed above may apply. To pay the additional retake fees, visit the exam payment website prior to scheduling the retake exam using the registration instructions above.
