Health Insurance
Eligibility
Full time undergraduate and graduate distance learners qualify for WKU's student health insurance plan through Academic Health Plans. To be eligible you must be a full-time student (undergraduate FT enrollment is a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester; graduate FT enrollment is a minimum of 9 credit hours each semester).
Coverage may be continued during the summer, if student is enrolled. Continuation through the summer requires undergraduate students to be enrolled in 6 credit hours; graduate students to be enrolled in 3 credit hours.
A WKU student can elect to add a spouse and/or children to the plan for an additional cost.
How to Enroll
WKU students can enroll on a semester basis or annually. It is necessary to pay the premium for the coverage period at the beginning of the term or annually.
