The Online Writing Center, housed in the English Department, was designed with distance learners in mind, and is open to both graduate and undergraduate students.
The Online Writing Center can provide you with the feedback you need. Tutors will talk with you about your writing and help you do the following:
We won't proofread your entire paper for you by email; we will only mark and explain the errors in a sample portion of your paper then highlight others so you can learn to identify them on your own. The feedback will include an audio explanation of the tutor's suggestions as well as written comments. Ideally, getting feedback on clarity of purpose, organization, and support should come before you move on to proofreading concerns..
It's easy to get started - just follow the steps below:
Plan ahead! It is our goal to provide feedback within 72 hours (not counting weekends), however in our busiest weeks of the semester, response may take us longer. With that in mind, it is best to submit your paper early. Submit your paper online, along with the details of your assignment. Providing assignment details helps us help you! With access to the instructor's assignment, we can work to ensure that assignment specifications have been met, which helps you raise your score!
