Preparing ASL Hearts
What is It?
The hope is to come together in a relaxed, "out of classroom" setting to enhance our signing skills and learn from experts in the field, make new friends and have fun signing.
What Inspired It?
Since 2010 students have been attending the BAIT Immersion Weekend in Talladega, AL. Several students have attended the World's Largest Silent Weekend in Orlando, FL and the Indiana Silent weekend. Each year, after their return from the exciting weekends, students had conversations of attending other immersion weekends and questioned why there was not one in Kentucky. Many of these students are active members of Western Kentucky University's American Sign Language Organization (ASLO). They have combined their experiences from other immersion weekends and decided to create, organize and manage the PAH (Preparing ASL Hearts) Weekend.
