Bruce Finkbone received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky in 1987. He earned his Comprehensive Skills Certificate (CSC) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. in 1981. Since then he has primarily worked in the educational setting, having provided interpreting services at the elementary school through post graduate levels. Additionally, he has interpreted in almost every other conceivable situation… theater, church, legal, medical, community, educational, and Deaf-Blind. He has received evaluator training from and has evaluated for the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc., the Georgia Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, and the Sign Language Proficiency Interview. Bruce was selected by the board of the Intertribal Deaf Council to serve as the Interpreter Coordinator for IDC functions – Board Meetings and Spiritual Gatherings. He has presented a variety of workshops on the local, state, regional and national levels. He is currently in his last year of working as an educational interpreter and will be retiring to Mexico next year. Bruce lives in Conyers, Georgia.
