With this rejoining of the department, it will be the beginning of Dr. Cravens' 56th year of affiliation with WKU. In 1958, Dr. Cravens was appointed to be the first full-time political science professor at Western, the same year the department began offering a minor in Political Science. Previously, he only taught six hours of Political Science. It was combined with the History Department with the designation of Department of History and Political Science. In the fall of 1958, The College Curriculum Committee approved the addition of four additional PS courses to constitute the first 18 hour minor in PS.
Dr. Cravens has been teaching at the Community College for the past two years. As a department, we would like to thank Dr. Cravens for his hard work and welcome him back as an adjunct professor.
