Game Day Recycling is ON for 2021!
For the 5th year, WKU is participating in the Game Day Recycling Challenge! WKU is competing against other Conference USA schools for the recycling gold. Recycle paper, plastic, aluminum, cardboard and glass to help WKU be #1!
WKU makes the top 10 in 2019!
In the 2019 season of the Game Day Recycling Challenge, WKU met the 2017 goal of placing in the top 10! WKU placed 10th in Diversion category and 18th in Recycling category. In diversion, WKU placed higher than 16 other schools (including UK)! Check out the full results here.
Each Football season, WKU is participates in the GameDay Recycling Challenge - a friendly-but-fierce national recycling competition against other colleges & universities.
In the 2019 football season, we collected over 11,900 lbs. of plastic bottles, aluminum cans, paper products, glass and cardboard from the stadium and tailgate area. Way to go, Hilltoppers!
In addition to collecting recyclables throughout the game in the stadium, WKU Fraternities compete against one another in their own recycling competition on game days. Each fraternity is given a custom recycling bin to collect their materials. In 2019, WKU Greeks recycled 343.7 pounds combined!
