Glass Recycling

Did you know WKU can now accept glass in the single stream recycling bins? That's right. Just toss it in the Single-Stream bin (gently, please). 

Why the change?

WKU amended its recycling service agreement with West Rock to include glass recycling at an additional cost of $5/ton.

Why do the signs on campus say it goes in the Landfill?

Since the inclusion of glass into WKU's single-stream is recent, many of the signs were printed and installed prior to this change. As most outdoor recycling signs are designed for long-term use and therefore, printed on metal, WKU intends to maximize the utlity of existing signs in good condition. Content on all outdoor signage will be updated upon the sign's replacement (at end of useful life). We apologize for any confusion, and please feel free to contact us with any questions: 270-745-3253
