To Be Eligible to Attend Teacher Orientation, Students MUST

  1. Have taken or currently enrolled in EDU201 at ECTC or EDU250/MGE275/SMED301 at WKU
  2. Have taken a Teacher Orientation Exam scoring 85% or higher – See exam schedule below.

 

Take the Following Items with you to Orientation:

  1. Acceptable Test Score IF you have them
  2. Photo of Yourself
  3. Copy of transcript showing grades for ENG101, ENG102 and COM181
    Names and Address of Instructors who will provide your recommendations (EDU201/MGE275/SMED301 plus one instructor from a WKU content course) 

**Prior to attending the Teacher Orientation, students must have taken the Teacher Orientation Exam.            

Students enrolled in WKU classes will find this on their Blackboard
Students enrolled in ECTC teacher education classes can get instructions from their instructors on how to access this exam.

Acceptable Test Scores:

If taken before September 1, 2014

-PRAXIS I minimum of 174 in Math minimum of 176 in Reading and minimum of 174 in Writing 


If taken on or after September 1, 2014

-PRAXIS Core minimum of 150 in Math (test#5732) minimum of 156 in Reading (test#5712) and minimum of 162 in Writing (test#5722)

At the Majors and Minors and Study Abroad Fair, students will have the unique opportunity to explore academic programs at WKU and options for expanding their education through a study abroad experience that fits with their academic and career goals. Hundreds of dollars in door prizes will be raffled throughout the event, and students will have the opportunity to win one of two study abroad scholarships.

Participants will sleep in a box overnight with only a couple of necessities.
