WKU at Fort Knox will offer five in-person courses this fall, giving military-affiliated students the opportunity to earn college credit alongside other WKU students – and without leaving the installation.
“WKU is committed to supporting service members and helping them reach their academic and professional goals, and we are excited to bring in-person courses back to Fort Knox,” said Academic Advisor and Military Programs Coordinator Erica Crawford.
“These in-person courses allow military students to engage with their professor and other WKU students without having to travel to another campus,” she added.
Fall 2024 Courses Include
- Juvenile Delinquency (CRIM 332)
- History of Middle East (HIST 462)
- Operations Management (MGT 314)
- Psychology of Learning (PSY 331)
- Abnormal Psychology (PSY 440)
Students will take the classes at the Fort Knox Education Center where they will engage with other WKU students via connected classrooms which are real-time video streaming between WKU main and regional campus classrooms.
Crawford stated that the classes were selected because they fit degree programs that our military students often choose, such as Organizational Leadership, Management, and Interdisciplinary Studies.
WKU at Fort Knox staff provide personalized support for military, veterans, and their dependents, including course registration, program planning, military-affiliated funding assistance, and other services. As a Military Friendly® school, WKU offers a special military rate of $250 per credit hour, a free Textbooks For Troops™ program, and college credit for military experience.
WKU also supports military-affiliated students through the Military Student Services office at WKU in Bowling Green.
“I’m excited for WKU to bring in-person classes back to Ft. Knox,” said Fort Knox Education Center Education Services Officer Rella Braxton.
“Online learning isn’t for everyone, so it’s important for soldiers, their families, and the Ft. Knox Community to have options in how they receive training.”
The Fort Knox Education Center has guidance counselors to help military students navigate ArmyIgnitED, the portal used to request tuition assistance funding. Soldiers with questions regarding their education benefits are encouraged to visit the Education Center. Their phone number is (502) 624-2427.
WKU’s fall registration is now open. Students are encouraged to schedule a meeting with their WKU advisor early to ensure a smooth enrollment process.
