WKU to Offer Free Career, Personal Development Non-Credit Courses
Bowling Green, Kentucky – A variety of self-paced online courses will be available at no cost this summer to support personal and career development throughout the region
Through a partnership with Ed2Go and MindEdge, WKU Career & Professional Development (CPD) will offer a numerous innovative, convenient, and interactive classes designed to provide real-world information that help participants stand out in the workforce or develop personally.
Ed2Go courses include 10 online, self-paced classes:
- 12 Steps to a Successful Job Search
- Fundamentals of Supervision & Management
- Personal Finance
- Managing Customer Service
- Creating Web Pages
- Creating WordPress Websites
- Individual Excellence
- Small Business Marketing on a Shoestring
- Keys to Effective Communication
- Marketing Your Business on the Internet
MindEdge courses are available from the Certificate in Creativity and Innovation:
- Critical Thinking,
- Personal Creativity
- Creativity in Teams and Organizations
“With so many businesses and employees having to adapt to current changes, it’s more important than ever for workers to build their skills,” said Cindy Ehresman, program manager of WKU Lifelong Learning, a unit of WKU CPD.
“Right now, it’s even more important that we work together to help each other, so we are excited to be able to provide these options for free” she stated. “This allows us to extend training opportunities to everyone and hopefully increase workforce prospects.”
Ehresman said that these courses are a good sampling of the non-credit programs available through CPD.
“We offer diverse opportunities, from test prep to personal enrichment to professional certificate programs, so there’s something for everyone,” she added.
