Dr. Marko Dumančić is an Assistant Professor at Western Kentucky University specializing in Soviet and Cold War history. Dr, Dumančić was born in Tripoli, Libya, and grew up in Zagreb, Croatia. He arrived in the United States in 1996, at the end of the civil war in the former Yugoslavia. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College and received both a Master of Arts and PhD in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began teaching at WKU in 2013. He has published articles on Soviet cultural history and post-communism in former Yugoslavia. Currently, Dr. Dumančić is completing a book on the cultural revolution during the Soviet 1960s.
