WKU is a military-friendly institution and is committed to helping members of the military,  veterans, and their dependents meet their academic goals. Military Student Services provides comprehensive, personalized support for WKU students from all branches of the military. Representatives help each student understand available services and navigate through the process. 

WKU participates in Textbooks for Troops^TM , ArmyIgnitED, and other programs that serve military students and their families. WKU also awards course credit for military experience & training based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Guide recommendation. Western Kentucky University offers a military tuition rate of $250 per credit hour for undergraduate and graduate courses to all service members currently on Active Duty, serving in a Reserve unit (excluding those on Individual Ready Reserve) or in a component of the National Guard.

WKU Military Student Services also works with WKU regional campuses to serve military students enrolled in courses at WKU in Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Glasgow, and Owensboro.
