Larry Gildersleeve Honored at WKU Annual Summit Awards

Larry Gildersleeve was presented with the 2018 Volunteer of the Year award on behalf of the Society for Lifelong Learning at WKU (SLL) on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the 18th Annual WKU Summit Awards.
Mr. Gildersleeve is a 1971 WKU graduate with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Pre-Law. He was recently accepted into the WKU Doctorate in Education program and is currently working on his third novel. He is a Founding Member and has served on the SLL Advisory Board, chaired the Special Events & Travel Committe and has helped bring a variety of interesting, though-provoking programs to SLL members and this community, including Food For Thought and “An Evening With . . .”
“Larry has been instrumental in the success of many SLL initiatives and we are grateful for his continuing support,” said Dr. Cindy Ehresman, Program Manager, WKU Lifelong Learning.
WKU President Tim Caboni presented the award during the annual ceremony, hosted by the College Heights Foundation, WKU Alumni Association and WKU Foundation. The Summit Awards are held on the Thursday evening of WKU Homecoming Week and is an opportunity to honor WKU volunteers who make an impact on the University.
