WKU Staff Leadership Institute Class of 2020 Begins

Participants for the WKU Staff Leadership Institute (SLI) Class of 2020 had their first meeting on January 15.
The 24 staff selected for this year are Tia Ackzien, Holly Basham, Tracy Bryant, Katie Carpenter, Angie Deaton, Todd Ellis, Don Ethington, Susan Fitzpatrick, Alicia Fryia, Amy Fugate, Bradley Greenwell, Destinee Greer, Sheryl Hagan-Booth, Kirk Henderson, Hayden Hobgood, Gina Johnson, Elizabeth Madariaga, Katie Muchmore, Megan Schargorodski, Jarrod Smith, Laura Smith, Laura Lee Tomlin, Catie Weaver, Kirsten Williams.
SLI is offered through a partnership between WKU Lifelong Learning, WKU Human Resources, and the WKU Staff Senate and is designed to develop leadership skills for WKU staff who have demonstrated advancement potential.
“The SLI is a challenging program that develops staff leadership skills that will help them excel personally and professionally at WKU,” said Cindy Ehresman, program manager of WKU Lifelong Learning.
“Over 300 WKU staff have participated in the SLI since 2003, and we are proud to partner with the WKU HR and Staff Senate to encourage emerging leaders within the WKU community.”
Participants spend one day each month improving leadership competencies including communication skills, teambuilding, and personal development strategies, as well as gaining knowledge about the WKU community and valuable resources throughout campus.
