Fourteen individuals have been selected for the upcoming WKU Staff Leadership Institute (SLI) – a program designed to develop leadership skills for WKU staff who have demonstrated advancement potential.
The SLI Class of ’21-’22 includes Devin Bell, Autumn Coleman, Elizabeth Gafford, Aarika Gunn, Rodney Hounshell, Lindsey Jones, Brett Middleton, Stephanie Prichard, Emilee Renfrow, Allison Salmon, Abbygail Schroader, Julie Scott, Kyler Shaw, Nicola Sparks, and Bionca Washington.
SLI is offered through a partnership between WKU Human Resources, WKU Staff Senate, and WKU Continuing & Professional Development. Its mission is to help WKU staff improve leadership competencies including communication skills, teambuilding, and personal development strategies, as well as gain knowledge about valuable resources throughout campus and the WKU community.
“Over 300 WKU staff have participated in the SLI since 2002, and we are proud to partner with WKU Human Resources and WKU Staff Senate to provide personal and professional development for WKU staff,” said April McCauley, program coordinator.
The group met on September 29 and will meet eight more days over the next seven months.
“It is always exciting to meet alumni of the program who are happy to tell you how the proven content has had a positive impact on them as individuals and WKU as a whole,” said McCauley. “I look forward to the new cohort sharing that experience.”
